Webmail

Webmail provides a way to view and read your webmail through a web browser, bypassing the need for an E-Mail Client. Webmail is useful for accessing mail when you are away from your home computer. Because most computers that have access to the Internet, have a web browser, you can read your mail almost anywhere.

There is a link in your Control Panel to access your webmail, but the better method is to use:

http://domain.com/webmail

where domain.com is your domain name.

At the time of this writing, CPanel developers were releasing the software suite with three different webmail options. They are NeoMail, Horde Mail, and SquirrelMail. When you go to http://domain.com/webmail you will be asked to enter a username and password. Enter the full e-mail address of the account you want to check as the username and that account's password. After successfully logging in, you will see the three webmail options.

You can pick whichever webmail client you prefer best. Below is a quick look at the interface provided by each webmail client.

NeoMail

When you click the NeoMail link, you may be asked to enter some configuration steps. The only real option that needs to be changed, is the Real Name. This is the name that users will see when you e-mail them. If you leave this as is, users will appear to get message from Your Name when you send messages through webmail, and you obviously do not want that to happen. The interface for Neomail is relatively simple.

Horde Mail

The Horde webmail client will require that you enter your login information again. The Horde client provides some other options that NeoMail does not. The best way to figure out these options is to play with them and see what they do.

SquirrelMail

SquirrelMail is the newest addition to CPanel. We have heard many great things about it, but have not had time to adequately see what all it has to offer. For more information about SquirrelMail, see their website.
