Auto-Responders

Auto-Responders provide a means for a user to communicate with a sender without having to personally send a message. An auto-responder can be used to inform people e-mailing you that you are on vacation or are out of the office for the week. They can also be used to confirm reception of a message.

NOTE: One note of caution regarding auto-responders, it is possible for auto-responders to get caught up in a loop and continually send messages back and forth. If, for example, you have an auto-responder set up and someone sends you a message, activating your auto-responder, that person will get your auto-responder. If that person happened to have an auto-responder set up, then his auto-responder will reply to your auto-responder. After the auto-responders start responding to each other, they will continue to do so. This can eat away at your bandwidth if the process goes on for any length of time and depending on the size of the messages. We recommend that you use Auto-Responders with caution.

When you click on the Auto-Responders link you will see a list of any Auto-Responders you have previously set up. To add a new Auto-Responder click the Add an Auto-Responder link. You should see a page similiar to the one below:

Fill out each entry with the information required.
NOTE: An auto-responder will be activated whenever a message is sent to that address. This includes if a message is forwarded to that address or if the catchall address is set to that address. Keep this in mind before you create an auto-responder.

After you have created your auto-responder you can go back to the Auto-Responders link. There you will see your newly created auto-responder. You will see the two options available to you, where you can Edit or Delete the auto-responder.
